Alex Fraser Park Holds Successful Events
With careful planning and strict adherence to covid19 protocol, several events at Alex Fraser Park have proven very successful. Congratulations to the BC Cutting Horse Association, the Quesnel Rodeo Club and to the Quesnel and District 4 H Club. The Rodeo Club sponsored two nights of drive in movies on the Park greenspace. The Cutting Horse competition attracted participants from throughout the province and the Quesnel and District 4H recently held the annual 4H show and sale. A great deal of creative planning went into organizing each event with consideration for the health and safety of participants. Events were held outdoors with attention paid to social distancing. Spectators were not allowed and participants were identified by wearing bracelets. Entrance to the Park was monitored at the gate. Social media proved to be a useful tool in promoting each event as well as safely bringing the events closer to the public.
Upcoming events at Alex Fraser Park include a High School Rodeo, two Quesnel Rodeo Club sponsored events and several Gymkhana races.
