Quesnel Cattlemens Association

The Quesnel Cattlemens Association is a local association whose purpose is to represent the producers of beef cattle in the quesnel Forest District, in all matters they are interested in including, but not limited to the improvement of livestock.

Our vision is a sustainable industry that serves and enhances the vibrancy of out communities.

Who we are:

The Quesnel Cattlemens Association is a local association that is part of the BC Cattlemen's Association (BCCA). The BCCA is the official voice of cattle ranchers throughout the province. Since 1929, the BCCA has served beef producers and currently works on behalf of over 70% of BC's cattle herd.

The BCCA is a grassroots organization made of eight zones that encompass 14 regional and 30+ local associations, each of which is a registered society with its own bylaws. Members become part of the BCCA by joining a regional or local association in their area.

Our mission is to promote, support and protect a healthy cattle industry that provides quality beef products and is guided by strong membership, environmental stewardship, respect for stakeholders and excellent business practices.

What we do:

Advocate on behalf of producers and their needs to governments.

Deliver programs and services to support ranchers.

Co-operate and enhance strategic alliances with groups working towards the same goals.

Communicate the latest industry news and policies to producers and communicate about the industry to the public.

Represent cattle producers on issues that matter to them.

Funding for BCCA activities comes from membership fees and check-off dollars collected by the Cattle Industry Development Council, while the Beef Cattle Industry Development Fund provides grants for individual projects that meet its funding priority.
